What is New in the 2018 model?
The 2018 model is a rebirth from the previous generation of crossovers. It was redesigned with styling cues borrowed from other Chevys like Volt, Cruze, and Malibu. Its new safety options include Low-speed Forward Automation Braking, Surround Vision and a Safety Alert Seat.
The latest 1.6-liter turbodiesel powered engine is the first of its kind in a compact crossover in the United States.

With respect to the engine, the Equinox 2018 model is in a class of its own. It features a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder DOHC type of engine with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). The crossover’s 1.5-liter motor comes with a direct injection as well as stop-start technology. It is also paired with a unique six-speed automation transmission. The engine produces 170 hp at 5600 rpm. And with its standard front-wheel drive, the engine can travel 26 miles per gallon while driving in the city and 32 miles per gallon when driven on the highway.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder DOHC type of engine is an upgraded engine for the Equinox premium and LT trims. It delivers 252 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. The engine also comes with CVVT, stop-start technology, and direct fuel injection.
Tech features
Equinox has no shortage with respect to tech features. All models are designed with the MyChevrolet mobile app used to remotely start or stop the engine, unlock and lock the doors and more. You can receive calls, play music and others as a result of the car’s connectivity with MyLink application. The standard equipment includes LED daytime running lights, teen driver settings, rearview camera, and tire pressure monitoring.
